Meet your chiropractor

Dr. Rachel C. Bailey, D.C.

Finding a reliable, caring, and trustworthy chiropractor doesn't have to be stressful. Dr. Bailey is board certified, has a long-standing relationship with the Austin community, and welcomes the chance to meet you.

A native Austinite

Dr. Rachel Bailey grew up in Austin and has always loved biology, anatomy, physiology, helping animals on the family ranch, fixing things, learning, and setting big goals. She graduated from McNeil High School with several academic scholarship offers, and set out to become a veterinarian specializing in equine and large animal care.

She began as a Biology major at Millsaps College, where she volunteered with Circle K and Habitat for Humanity, danced on the college dance team, and earned honors including the Dean's List, Phi Eta Sigma, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She also chaired the student chapter of Women in Science.

A summer class at Texas A&M won her over, and she transferred into its Biomedical Sciences program. There she kept volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, graduated with a Bachelor of Science, and was inducted into Beta Beta Beta, the biology honor society. She especially treasured her years as a veterinary orthopedic surgical assistant, where her interest in anatomy and biomechanics took root.

The turning point

Just as everything was lined up for vet school, Dr. Bailey became seriously ill. Within months she could barely move, was in constant pain, and had to withdraw from classes and move home. After months in and out of clinics and hospitals in Austin, College Station, Temple, and Houston, she called the chiropractor who had helped her so many times when she was younger.

He saw her first thing the next morning, and in less than five minutes she had the answer she needed. Within two weeks she was moving, going places, and taking care of herself again. That's when she knew: the world didn't need more great veterinarians. It needed more great doctors who use Applied Kinesiology.

Becoming Dr. Bailey

Two weeks after finishing her degree at Texas A&M, she started at Texas Chiropractic College. Back to her old self, she served as Treasurer of the Student Body Association and as a class officer, tutored anatomy and physiology, and volunteered regularly. After her internship at the Moody Health Center, she graduated with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Activator Technique Certification, and Applied Kinesiology Certification.

Home in Austin

Dr. Bailey is happy to be back in Austin, married to Eric (her 7th-grade PE class crush), serving as an usher in the church she grew up in, and learning every day how to be a better mom and an even better holistic Doctor of Chiropractic.

In more than a decade of practice she has found endless delight in her work, and she gives back to the Austin community through education, volunteering, donations, and active membership in local and global professional organizations.
